Financial Aid

Transfer Student Requirements for Financial Aid Eligibility

As a transfer student, in addition to the basic eligibility requirements, you must provide the following to Cleveland State University:

  • Valid final high school transcript or equivalent
  • All postsecondary official transcripts

Also, please note the following:

  • An academic year at CSU begins in the Fall, followed by Spring and ends with Summer.
  • You will need to complete or access your FAFSA online and add the CSU School Code (003032).
  • Any aid that was received from another institution during the current school year will impact your aid from CSU. Please notify Campus 411 if this is the case, to prevent over awarding. Over awarding may result in a balance to be paid to CSU by the student.
  • New transfer and returning students to CSU are encouraged to carefully read the Financial Aid Office Standards of Satisfactory Process Policy. Federal regulations require that you complete your academic program within 150% of the standard timeframe for your program. At CSU, 128 credits are used as the standard for graduation, with 192 attempted credits as the maximum for a Bachelor’s degree. All credits are counted, even if you did not receive financial aid and even if the credits do not count towards graduation for your present academic program.
