Academic Integrity Faculty Incentive Panel

This past year, Faculty on campus participated in the Center for eLearning’s Academic Integrity Incentive program to utilize recommended practices suggested by Faculty Senate to ensure academic honesty in their online courses. To promote academic integrity Faculty altered the delivery of course exams, added variations to their online assignments, and used online proctoring tools such as Respondus Lockdown Browser and Tegrity Proctoring. Faculty who participated will be sharing their experience about the incentive program, in order to help other Faculty ensure academic honesty in their online courses. You can register to join the Blackboard Best Practices User Group on October 23rd for the first presentation.

Ally Implemented into Blackboard

Ally for Blackboard

Have you noticed a little red, orange, or green meter next to your documents on Blackboard? That’s because we have implemented the Blackboard Ally tool for Instructors to help keep track of the accessibility of their course content. By clicking on the meter icon you can review what Ally has found in your document that isn’t accessible to students with disabilities. This could range from missing alt tags on images to needing to implement headings into your syllabus. We will be hosting a workshop with the Center for Faculty Excellence on September 25th covering Ally for Blackboard and how you can use it to your benefit!

Blackboard Best Practices User Group

The Blackboard Best Practices User Group is an informal faculty group that evolved from the Faculty LMS Evaluation committee. The group meets monthly throughout the school year to discuss new tools on Blackboard, and how to approach the upcoming shift to Blackboard Ultra. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 23rd from 11:30am – 12:30pm for the academic integrity presentation mentioned above. All faculty interested in Blackboard technologies and online instruction are welcome to attend! Interested faculty should register for the event on the Blackboard Best Practices User Group webpage.

Blackboard Ultra Pilot

Blackboard 2018

This semester Faculty from the Center for Educational Leadership are delivering their online courses through Blackboard’s new Ultra platform, which will be made more widely available to campus in upcoming semesters. Blackboard has created a free Educator Preview of Blackboard Ultra on CourseSites, which you can enroll in now to check out the new platform before its full launch at CSU! If you have questions or concerns about course delievery through the new Ultra interface you can contact the Center by email at elearning@csuohio.edu, phone 216.687.3960 or drop by our office in Rhodes Tower Room 201.
