Active Learning Techniques in Online Courses

Active learning means students engage with the material, participate in the class, and collaborate with each other.  During this brown bag session, we will explore methods of teaching and learning with technology that combines available technologies with the best active learning pedagogy to provide new opportunities to those who teach online.  We will look at new designs for learning, more online collaboration, having students focus on online assignments, and improving the students’ online experiences. This session may challenge some of your pre-existing design ideas with regards to online teaching and learning.  The goal is to leave this session with some solid, practical ideas to guide your planning for effective online teaching.

NoteBrown Bag sessions are offered in collaboration with the Center for Faculty Excellence. Registration is not required, but encouraged.   To register, please complete the Center for Faculty Excellence's Online Workshop Registration Form.
