The Study Abroad Scholarship Table below provides links to available study abroad scholarships. Each scholarship deadline and application process are unique. Click on the name of the scholarship for details and to apply.

African American female student that is a US citizen accepted into a study abroad program of sophomore standing or above with a preference for applicants who have not traveled out of the country

Killam Open Competition $5,000 For expenses related to study in Canada, typically through NSE- National Student Exchange Program
Huayu Enrichment Scholarship varies Study abroad at an approved Mandarin language center in Taiwan
Critical Language Scholarship Fully-funded fellowship Summer only fellowship in Critical Language area; must study abroad where assigned
Fund for Education Abroad Up to $5,000 Undergraduates; students from groups historically underrepresented in education abroad are strongly encouraged to apply; named scholarships for particular groups like Athletes, LGBTQI+, and African-Americans are also awarded e.g. Tamara H. Bryant Memorial Scholarship 
Boren Undergraduate Scholarship up to $10,000 Semester  Immersion experience in foreign language deemed important to U.S. national security
Golden Key International Honour Society ~$1,000 Term  Chapter members only
Marandon Scholarship ~$4,000 Summer  Study in the summer at Laval University in Quebec City, QC, Canada 
National Italian American Foundation $2,000-$12,000 Semester Student of Italian heritage or Italian major/minor w/ GPA of 3.5+
Bridging Scholarship $2,500 Semester Study in Japan 
British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association (BUTEX) £500 Term  Study in United Kingdom at a BUTEX member campus
RISE Germany Stipends to help pay for living expenses Undergraduate students studying biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, or computer science are eligible for a summer internship. Must stay a minimum of ten weeks during the summer.
Diversity Abroad- Overseas Ambassador $500 Term  Economically disadvantaged students and/or minorities are strongly encouraged to apply
Year Abroad Scholarship to Poland
 
Acceptance to the program, a tuition waiver and a Ministry stipend in the amount of 1,350 zloty per month for housing and living expenses. Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who are US citizens
ROTC Project Go  fully funded  critical language interest; undergrad or grad student on track to commission through ROTC; Marine Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) students are also eligible.
Tortuga Backpacks $1,000 + backpack U.S. citizen enrolled full-time, accepted for study abroad
Study in China Scholarship  AASCU-designated Chinese Government Scholarship Tuition, room and board  3.0 GPA, semester or year abroad at one of over 250 eligible Chinese univerisites; due Jan 31

term: any designated period of study
semester: traditional period of study usually 12 weeks or longer
summer: typically 4-8 weeks between May-August
 

Matching Scholarships:

Some program providers will match a Gilman grant or award a significant scholarship to students who are awarded a Gilman or a Boren Scholarship and are planning to study abroad through their organization. Please check the website of the program provider to verify the availability.

SIT Pell Grant Matching Scholarship
Students going abroad on selected School for International Training programs receive an additional scholarship.

CIEE Gilman Go Global
CIEE Study Center applicants who receive a Gilman Scholarship may receive an additional $2,500 award. 

AIFS Gilman Scholarship Bonus
AIFS will award an additional $500 to each student who receives a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and uses it toward an AIFS semester or academic year catalog program.

API First Generation College Student Award
Students participating on an API program who are the first in their family to attend college are eligible to apply. 

Provider Scholarships:

You must be planning to enroll in one of their programs to apply for the scholarship. Typically a minimum 3.0 gpa, essay, and letter of recommendation are required; see website for details.
