Building recognition for Cleveland State University is critical for gaining community support, alumni activity and donor interest, as well as attracting the highest quality students, faculty and staff. This is accomplished by determining the right messages for target audiences and developing marketing objectives, strategies and tactics to communicate effectively.
University Marketing is Cleveland State's in-house agency for marketing and communications. The group is structured as an advertising or public relations firm, emphasizing account service, graphic design, production, media relations and photography.
The department develops and implements promotional plans, special events, multi-media presentations and advertising campaigns. Account representatives and graphic designers work in teams to create the products, programs and materials that support client objectives.
The department also acts as a liaison between the University and the news media to ensure that accurate information is communicated to the public within media deadlines. Press conferences and receptions are organized for significant announcements.
As the University's marketing and publications resource, the department produces a variety of printed materials, including printed brochures and other collateral materials. The department also prepares Web and electronic publications and takes a creative lead in the design of official pages of the University Web site.
