Purchase permits via CSU Online Parking System, by logging in using your CSU ID and Campus Net password. Permits are priced based on the parking access they provide relative to the parking location’s proximity to the core of campus. Viking Cards will be required for permit holders to access garages. Please ensure your parking account is up-to-date and all citations are paid; outstanding balances will prevent/delay the purchase of your preferred permit. The CSU GO Online Parking System is optimized for use with Internet Explorer. Using other browser types may cause errors. All permits are limited and may sell out. View the various parking locations on the Parking Map

Faculty and Staff have several options:

  1. White permits provide access to non-core surface lots and the South Garage. This permit option is priced to provide the maximum value.
  2. Green permits provide access to all core garages, a few core surface lots, and the South Garage.
  3. Evening [valid after 3:30 p.m.] permits provide access to most white and green parking locations based on specific time restrictions. South Garage access is not available with Evening and Night permits. This permit is only available during fall and spring semesters.
  4. Night [valid after 5:30 p.m.] permits provide access to most white and green parking locations based on specific time restrictions. South Garage access is not available with Evening and Night permits. This permit is only available during fall and spring semesters.
  5. Prospect Garage (PG) permits are restricted to students living in a University residence hall (Euclid Commons and Fenn Tower) and a limited number of employees.
    • PG permits provide access to the Prospect Garage and South Garage.
    • PG permits usually sell out.
  6. $6 Virtual Pay-As-You-Go permits are only available for each semester. Not available as an annual permit. Allows entry to gated garages with a valid CSU ID. When leaving, swipe a valid ID and pay a $6.00 flat rate. To be able to utilize this new parking option, faculty and staff must purchase the Virtual Pay-As-You-Go permit on the Parking website, at no upfront cost.
    • Payment is required to exit the garage. Payment options include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Debit Card, and cash.
    • Vehicle(s) must be registered to the virtual permit.
    • Valid at EG, CG, WG, SG, and PG. Not valid at non-gated parking garages or surface lots.
    • Parking is available between 5:00AM and 11:59PM only. Not available for overnight parking.
    • A permit does not guarantee parking in a specific garage.
    • No in-out privileges
  7. Middough Garage (Lot 13): Two areas to park.
    • CSU Students, Faculty & Staff are not permitted to park their personal vehicle inside the garage before 4:00pm on weekdays.  After 4:00pm weekdays and anytime on weekends, parking is permitted by displaying any valid CSU parking permit.
    • CSU Alley Parking Spaces are available on the East side of the Middough Garage. Parking is available from 5:00am - 11:59pm by obtaining any valid CSU parking permit

Permits provide access to all locations assigned to your permits, not a specific lot or garage.

Viking Card is required for most garages.

Manage your parking account via the CSU GO Online Parking System; purchase permits, register vehicles, view letters, and pay citations in one convenient location. Use your CSU login and password to access the new system and explore CSU GO Online.

2022-2023 Refund Policy

Refund requests submitted for permits that are lost or stolen must be accompanied by a police report.  For more Refund Policy information, click here.

Accessing Green Permit Gated Facilities: West Garage, East Garage, and Central Garage

Green permit gated facilities require a Viking Card to scan in and out of the garages. Green permit holders that wish to identify themselves as a disabled patron can submit the Electric Request Form or download and submit the Gated Facility Access Request Form.  Applicants must submit a copy of their Disabled Placard and Certificate of Registration. Once the form is completed, and the Viking Card is enabled for override access, disabled patrons will be able to scan into gated facilities when they are full to check for an open disabled space. Please note that when a facility is 'full' but there are open parking spaces, those spaces are likely reserved for CSU guests or a special event and should remain open.

Faculty & Staff Disabled Cross Park Authorization

Disabled Cross Parking allows faculty or staff, with a prepaid permit, to park in any green or white permit space on campus, including disabled parking spaces. Lot 22, Rec Center Garage, and meters are limited to Disabled Spaces only. This access is granted for CSU work outside your assigned area only, not daily parking. This form must be completed and returned to Parking at the start of each fiscal year.

Parking Rules

Each individual who chooses to park at Cleveland State University is expected to comply with established rules and procedures. See additional information under Parking Rules.

Campus Safety Escort

Faculty and staff who must walk on campus at night are encouraged to use CSU Escorts by calling 216-687-2020 (Campus Extension 2020) when traveling to and from destinations.
