NEW SERIES! 

Good Eats!!!  Nutrition for the College Student ( Feed your Potential, Chopped Salad, Saute’-Steam-Simmer, Tasty Affordable meals, Health Ingredient Swap) Empower yourself to make healthy food, nutrition and lifestyle choices. Practice new found skills and knowledge with hands on demonstrations.  

  • Attend 3 out of the 4 sessions and receive a gift card.
  • Sessions are held on the following Fridays from 1-2pm; October 11. October 24, November 8, November 22

August

  • 8/6  Certified Peer Education Training IM 109, 8am-5pm
     
  • 8/13 Empowered Bystander Training IM 109, 10am-11am
    Learn how to intervene and help a friend in difficult situations that may include alcohol, anxiety, homesickness and sexual misconduct.

September

  • 9/10 Be Well. Be Healthy. Be You - World Mental Health Day SC Atrium, 11:30am – 1:00pm 
    Discover the various ways you can stay healthy while at CSU. This event brings together campus constituents that support, encourage, and inspire not only healthy choices but individuality.  Find commonality as well as people, departments and organizations who are your campus support networks. Join us for food, music, hands on experiences, demonstrations and meet your campus support networks.
     
  • 9/11 & 9/12 Blood Drive – Vitalant  BH Auditorium, 10am-4pm
    Donate blood and earn a $5 Chipotle gift card and a chance to win a $500 scholarship.
     
  • 9/17 Hands Only CPR The Rec Center Instructional Room 177, 11:30am-12:30pm
    Save a Life! Learn ‘”hands only” CPR in less than one hour. Registration is required.

  • 9/16 & 9/17 Sexual Health Awareness Week  
    • 9/16  BH Atrium, 12pm-2pm
    • 9/17  SC Bridge, 11am-1pm 
      Sexual Health is my responsibility! Look for tables across campus that provide information on being responsible for your sexual health. STD information and testing sites will be available along with free condoms and lube and healthy relationship information. 
       
  • 9/18  Empowered Bystander Location TBD, 2pm-3pm

  • 9/20 International Student Peer Education Applications Due! 
    This group seeks to empower international students by providing information and support about responsible decision making and positive role-modeling to help improve the CSU international student experience as part of the campus community.  Specifically, student leaders will address health and safety concerns in 2 ways: 1) through individual interactions and 2) through facilitating large group training sessions. All members are trained through CSU Health and Wellness with certification from NASPA training program, in addition to Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and the Center for International Student Services and Programs.

    Become a Nationally Certified Peer Educator! Learn skills you can use today and tomorrow when helping others! Be a part of the movement to create healthy and safe campuses! 
     
  • 9/24 STOP THE BLEED The Rec Center Instructional Room 177, 12pm-1:30pm
    Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. This program is delivered by University Hospitals and funded through Homeland Security. Registration is required.

      Stop by, share your story, write words of encouragement and learn the importance of self breast exams for young women.
       
  • 10/16 & 10/17 Blood Drive-American Red Cross BH Auditorium, 10am - 4pm
     
  • 10/24 NCAAW – Choose Wisely! SC Atrium, 11am-1pm 
    Visit the Birthday Booth, Peer Education booth and a number of campus and community partners that can provide information on education, treatment, prevention and support for substance use.
     
  • 10/21 Empowered Bystander Location TBD, 11am-12pm 
    Learn how to intervene and help a friend in difficult situations that may include alcohol, anxiety, homesickness and sexual misconduct. 
     
  • 10/22 Narcan Training  Location TBD, 11:30am-12:30pm 
    This is a voluntary training for anyone who wants more information on Naloxone (narcan). Participants are trained through Project Dawn,  A MetroHealth program, and are offered a chance to receive narcan kits.
