Orientation

Orientation for Incoming Freshmen

Orientation is a mandatory, program designed to welcome you to campus and prepare you to be a Cleveland State student. There are three steps in the orientation process! Current high school students or high school graduates who have not attended college are required to attend Orientation.

Orientation - Step 1

The first step of Orientation is spent attending academic, financial aid and other information sessions with new classmates. Students also meet with an academic advisor, schedule their advising appointment and receive their CSU Viking ID card. Program dates occur throughout the summer and can be found in your Applicant Student Portal once you have “accepted” your offer of admission and paid your enrollment fee.

Incoming freshman students must pay a non-refundable $120 enrollment deposit prior to signing up for Orientation. Students who request the enrollment deposit be deferred will see the $120 charge on their first tuition bill.

Orientation - Step 2

The second step of orientation is to complete your CLEstate Compass Course. This is a mandatory course that is located within blackboard. You will be receiving login instructions following your Orientation session.

More information can be found at: www.csuohio.edu/fye/compass.

Orientation - Step 3

We have an exciting day planned to help with your transition to Cleveland State University! Leave high school (and your parents) behind and celebrate your first week on campus. This student-only program, known as MagnusFest, is your chance to find your classrooms, learn college survival skills, visit with your academic college and so much more. You will receive more information about MagnusFest as you get closer to the start of the Fall Semester.

We look forward to seeing you at Orientation!
