The Beauty and Joy of Computing Sparks

Beauty and Joy of Computing Sparks is an introductory computer science curriculum that takes a unique functional-first approach to engaging all students in powerful ideas of computing from the start. Specially designed for middle grades but with content accessible and attractive for both younger and older students, this workshop will guide educators through the curriculum and support teachers in thinking about implementing it in their schools. The workshop meets from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, M-F.

July 8-July 12, 2024--The Coding School
Quantum Computing for High School

The Coding School is the only national provider of Quantum Computing curriculum and content for integration into high school computer science. They will cover other related topics, such as AI, cyber security, and IoT. The workshop meets from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, M-F.

July 29-August 2, 2024--BootstrapWorld
Data Science for High School

BoostrapWorld is the only provider of an inclusive, integrative model of data science for high school math. The curriculum was uniquely designed for educators to incorporate the concepts and content into their existing curriculum and has been developed by national leaders in computer science and technology-related content for K-12 students. The workshop meets from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, M-F.

August 5-August 9, 2024--EDC
CS Principles (AP or non-AP): Beauty and Joy of Computing (BJC)

Beauty and Joy of Computing is an introductory high school computer science curriculum designed to help students experience surprise and delight in what they can create with computers. The College Board endorses the curriculum as an AP CS Principles curriculum, and this workshop will walk teachers through the curriculum and the AP requirements and support them in thinking about growing the CS programs at their schools. The workshop meets from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, M-F.
