Q - Are Counseling services available?

Yes. The Counseling Center is here to help if you have a student of concern or would like to request a presentation or workshop for your class. Crisis walk-in is available M-F from 1:00 – 3:00 (or anytime from 9-5 if needed). After hours, the Counseling Center has phone counselors available to talk with a student in distress or consult with you about your concerns (216) 687-2277. For staff and faculty, a one-time crisis and referral session is available. For students, we provide group therapy, individual and couples therapy, psychiatry, case management, and ADHD/LD testing. Counseling is confidential and free. The Center is located in the Union Building (1836 Euclid Avenue), Rm 220, (216) 687-2277. For more information see http://www.csuohio.edu/counselingcenter.

Another option for students of concern is the Vikes CARE Office. The CARE Office provides one-on-one support to students encountering challenges or crises, both big and small. The CARE Office can help navigate student issues around almost any area of concern, whether academics, behavioral, health, financial, and just about anything else. If you don’t know where to send a student for support, the CARE Office is a good destination. Referrals, requests for consultation, or requests for training/presentations should be sent to magnusacts@csuohio.edu. Please note: emergencies should be directed to CSUPD by calling 911 or x2020. The CARE Office is not an emergency service. The CARE Office is in the Student Life suite, room 319 in the Student Center.
