Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Please review the following information prior to completing your online application:

Freshman Requirements:

The following admission requirements apply to students who have not completed any college-level course work after completing secondary school.

  1. Cumulative secondary school GPA equivalent to a 2.3 on the US grading scale for most programs. The College of Engineering requires a 2.7 and the College of Education and Human Services requires a 2.5.
  2. Proof of English proficiency.
  3. Students applying to the Honor's Program, student athletes who must comply with NCAA eligibility requirements, and those who have attended a US high school or secondary school in another country that follows the US high school curriculum must submit a minimum ACT score of 16 or a minimum SAT score (combined critical reading and math) of 770.
Transfer Requirements:
  1. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 at all previous colleges and universities combined for most programs. The College of Engineering requires a 2.2 and the College of Education and Human Services requires a 2.5.
  2. Proof of English proficiency.

 

English Proficiency Requirements:

All international undergraduate applicants must demonstrate proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:

  • Meet minimum test score requirements:
TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based): 78 and at least 17 in each section
TOEFL PBT (Paper-Based): 550
IELTS: 6.0 and at least 5.0 in each section
PTE (Pearsons Test of English): 50
iTEP: 3.8
ACT English Score: 20
SAT Critical Reading Score: 470
  • Successful completion of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level, with a grade of 80% or better.
  • Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from any of the ELS Language Centers.
  • Successful completion of 30 semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college in the United States or English speaking country with a cumulative 2.0 GPA, including the equivalent of CSU’s ENG 101 and ENG 102 with a grade of C or better. Course equivalency will be determined during the application process.
