Spring 2024 Commencement will be here before we know it! As always, faculty and staff play an important part in making sure our students have a successful celebration.

We understand that commencement occurs during the heavy grading period at the end of the semester, certainly a busy time for all. However, we encourage participants to attend the commencement ceremony to help make the day memorable for our graduates.

Open rehearsal for our main undergraduate/graduate ceremonies: More details to come

Visit the main commencement page for complete ceremony details and information.

Faculty Attendance RSVP

We invite our faculty to attend commencement in support of our graduates. Those participating should dress in full regalia, as you will be part of the processional and then seated with our graduates on the floor during the ceremony. Please submit your Faculty Commencement RSVP no later than April 26

Assist at Commencement

We need helping hands to make sure our event goes off without a hitch. That means greeters to guide guests and graduates to their destinations, assistance manning our college check-in stations, extra hands to help students don their regalia correctly and anything else that crops up. All commencement assistants will be monetarily compensated for their time. To assist at the event, please fill out the Assist at Commencement form no later than Friday, April 26. Having an accurate headcount before the event allows us to effectively plan how best to support our students.

FACULTy Regalia

Faculty regalia is available to rent if you don’t have your own. If you need regalia, please complete our rental order form no later than 5 p.m. on April 1. The form will be active from Wednesday, February 21 through 5 p.m. on Mondahy, April 1. Rental orders take a month to process, so our Follet and Herff Jones partners will not be able to accommodate orders after the March 31 deadline.

If you wish to purchase your own regalia, please work with Viking Outfitters directly to facilitate purchase and ordering.

Once orders are shipped, you will receive notification to pick up your regalia at Viking Outfitters or the Wolstein Center.

Please note:

Doctoral ceremony participants (May 10): Regalia orders must be picked up from Viking Outfitters by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 9—robes will not be delivered to Waetjen Auditorium.

Main ceremony participants (May 11): Regalia orders for the main undergraduate/graduate ceremony on May 11 should also be picked up by Thursday, May 9. Any orders not picked up will be transferred to the fourth floor robing room in the Wolstein Center for pick up on commencement day. Viking Outfitters staff will be on location to assist.

Reminder: Any rented regalia must be returned to the Viking Outfitters staff at the end of the ceremony. There will be boxes to return your rentals in the robing room for processing faculty.
