At Cleveland State University, we recognize the commitment and sacrifice of those serving on Active Duty. The Viking Service Promise is our commitment to helping you achieve your educational goals by reducing the remaining cost of earning your degree.

The Viking Service Promise is a last-dollar institutional scholarship designed to help eligible Active Duty military students eliminate remaining eligible educational costs after military education benefits have been applied.

Rather than replacing your military benefits, the Viking Service Promise works alongside them—helping bridge the remaining tuition gap so you can focus on your education while continuing to serve.

How it Works

1. Apply for admission to Cleveland State University.
2. Utilize available military Tuition Assistance and other applicable educational benefits.
3. CSU reviews your remaining eligible educational costs.
4. If eligible, the Viking Service Promiste may help cover the remaining tuition gap.

Who is Eligible?

The Viking Service Promise is designed for eligible Active Duty military students enrolled at Cleveland State University.

The Viking Service Promise does not cover non-educational or personal expenses, including:

2. Meal plans
3. Parking
4. Health insurance
5. Personal expenses
6. Late payment fees
7. Collection fees
8. Other non-instructional charges
