The Cleveland State University McNair Scholars Program strives to provide support, opportunities, and the tools for success to the students it serves. By offering assistance to first-generation college students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and to students from racial and ethnic populations underrepresented in graduate programs, the CSU McNair Program seeks to introduce a diverse array of scholars into STEM fields at the graduate level. The goal is to increase the number of academics in these fields while broadening the spectrum of voices present within them. The program offers eligible scholars a wide array of opportunities designed to help them successfully enter and succeed in doctoral programs; these include graduate school visitations, academic advising, GRE preparation courses, faculty-mentored research projects, and opportunities to present at conferences throughout the United States.
