Fenn Tower Gets It's Name - Officially

Date of Event:
Saturday, January 1, 1938

The National Town & Country Club building at East 24th St. and Euclid Avenue was officially renamed and dedicated as Fenn Tower. This not only gave Fenn College a prestigious Euclid Avenue address, Fenn became the third college in the United States to have a skyscraper on campus.

Later, the building would undergo rennovations that would earn Fenn Tower - and Fenn College - the nickname "The Campus in the Clouds".

Hear from former Cleveland State University Archivist, William Becker in the video below as he talks about Fenn Tower, and how it was used as a "vertical campus".
