What you need to know to use copyrighted materials in your classes.
This workshop explores copyright from the standpoint of the consumer of information (in particular, educators) and how copyrighted information can be used in the classroom. Participants will learn what copyright is, its purpose, the exclusive rights of the copyright holder and the limitations on those rights that allow use of protected materials. Participants will learn about the Fair Use Doctrine, how to determine if a use is a fair use, and will be updated on recent legal cases involving use of copyrighted materials.
Join Glenda Thornton, Director, Michael Schwartz Library.
