Program
Action Research
Calling all instructors: Would you like to learn from and improve your own instructional practice this academic year? Are you interested in engaging in this learning with other instructors committed to learning from and sharing their practice? If so, come join the Center for Faculty Excellence and the Cleveland Teaching Collaborative’s Practitioner Research Initiative. This Practitioner Research initiative is aligned with this year’s theme Cultivating Creativity, and we hope all of the projects will enhance CSU’s commitment to cultivating creativity in teaching and learning across campus.
The CFE and CTC will guide you through the action research process and connect you with a community of other instructors dedicated to teaching and learning. No prior action research experience is needed. You will be supported in designing and enacting an action research project around a topic you identify as important. During the project, you will analyze and learn from your instructional practices. You will have a chance to share the results of your work with the larger CSU community. If you are interested (even just curious to learn more), please submit this brief form. All instructors who complete the action research cycle will receive a stipend.
Teaching Portfolio
This series is designed to help faculty in their journey to developing a teaching portfolio, focusing on philosophy of teaching, course goals, methods and activities. Participants will be encouraged to write about their progress and success and present about their experiences at a conference.
New Faculty Orientation
Prior to the start of the Academic Year, the Center for Faculty Excellence organizes a multi-day orientation for all new faculty to ensure their smooth transition into the University and to enable them to access all available resources.
Teaching Summit
The Teaching Summit will bring together CSU faculty for a day of learning, connecting, sharing experiences and appreciating those dedicated to the development of their and their colleagues' teaching skills.
