Dean Search: College inclusive of Arts & Sciences

We are excited to officially launch our external search for the inaugural dean of our newly realigned college that will include arts, humanities and sciences degree programs.

We have established a strong search advisory committee, who we have charged with conducting a confidential dean search process that will ensure a robust and diverse pool of qualified candidates that we will bring to campus in spring 2022 for extensive in-person interviews and open forums for our campus community.

Our search advisory committee includes:

To assist our committee, we have retained the services of WittKieffer, a search firm nationally recognized for their extensive experience in higher education leadership searches. Our primary consultants from WittKieffer, Zachary Smith and Lauren Bruce-Stets, have partnered with the search advisory committee to finalize a position description and develop an aggressive national search process that will lead us to talented candidates from across the nation.

Candidate Information & Forum Details

We are pleased to share that starting this week, we will have several candidates visiting campus. While here, each candidate will have a chance to meet with the search committee and senior leadership, tour campus, engage with students and meet our college deans. There will also be an open forum with moderated Q&A for each candidate on the day of their visit. Details about our candidates and the forums will be released the day prior to each candidate visit.

Candidate #1: David Bowman, Ph.D.

David Bowman, Ph.D., is the current dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and professor of geology at Eastern Washington University in Washington. Review Bowman's Curriculum Vitae and Letter of Interest
