Investing in Graduate Education

Financing Your Education

Graduate students are eligible for $20,500 each FAFSA/Academic year (Starts in Fall and ends in Summer)—or 10,250 per semester in a non-credit based unsubsidized loan.  If the 10,250.00 is not enough to cover your educational and living expenses or last you until the end of summer semester, then you may apply for a credit-based Graduate PLUS Loan. Information regarding the various loans can be found here:

To apply for a GRAD PLUS – you do so online via:

There are no scholarships offered by the University for graduate students—however, you may inquire with your respective academic department for the discipline to which you are studying.

You can also access the following graduate funding database through College Now Greater Cleveland.  You will need to click the link below and scroll all the way down to the end of the page:

You may also want to visit the Foundation Center for Greater Cleveland and utilize the database “Funding for Individuals Online.” The database is free if you visit the Foundation Center’s library located at East 14th Street and Euclid in the Hanna Building:

You may also access the Michigan State University Resource Center—which is an aggregate of external scholarship resources. Click on the link for Graduate Student Funding:

If you are looking for Graduate Assistantships (GAs)—read the Campus Horn as professors and departments sometimes post job opportunities there. If your department is not offering any GAs—look university-wide by accessing the Career Success Network Online Job Board—some departments post GA openings through Career Services:
