The Office of First Year Experience promotes the engagement and success of all undergraduate first-year students as they transition to Cleveland State University. Our office works to understand and advocate for the needs of our first-year students to ensure a positive holistic experience. FYE contributes to Engaged Learning by connecting students to university resources that foster a supportive learning environment, improve retention, and enable student success during their first year on campus. 

Through programs such as our Meta-Major sections of ASC 101, our PNC Foundation Grant funded Peer Mentor Program, A.L.I.C.E. training, Out-of-Class Activities around campus and throughout Cleveland, our office works with first-year students to transition successfully to college life, explore the urban setting our campus is in, and engage with the campus community.  We are committed to empowering all students to persist through the first year of college and beyond.
