About The Panel

In this panel, JobsOhio's representatives introduce and elaborate on the timing, resources, partnerships, and challenges in their 3-Pillar Innovation Strategy. The three pillars discussed are the creation of Innovation Districts in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, the creation of grants for new R&D centers, and providing growth capital funds for existing firms.


Speakers

Andrew Deye – VP, Strategy, JobsOhio
Andrew Deye serves as Vice President of Strategy at JobsOhio. In this role, Andrew leads strategy, global business development and research functions at JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation. Prior to joining JobsOhio in 2015, Andrew was an investment banker in Chicago and New York, where he worked with clients in the infrastructure sector on strategic assignments including financings, mergers and acquisitions, public-private partnerships and privatizations.

Tyler Allchin – Managing Director, Healthcare Sector, JobsOhio
Tyler Allchin serves as the Managing Director of Healthcare at JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation. In this role, Tyler is responsible for growing Ohio’s life science sector alongside the state’s world-class care providers, research institutions, and corporate leaders. Before joining JobsOhio in 2020, Tyler led economic development projects for BioEnterprise, Cleveland, Ohio’s life science business accelerator and industry convener. An attorney by education, Tyler was a healthcare industry lobbyist for many years – representing a diversity of clients in Washington and statehouses across the country. Tyler is a graduate of The University of Akron (JD, MPA) and Kent State University (BA). He is a Board Trustee for BioOhio, the voice of the Ohio’s life science industry, as well as the Board Chair and Co-Founder of The Warren A. Sill Fund, a non-profit investor in early childhood education.

Tatyana Hower – Strategy, Investment Execution and Portfolio Management, JobsOhio
Tatyana Hower as an early-stage technology investor and portfolio company advocate with proven track record of building teams, strategy and performance outcomes.  She has worked as an investing and strategy partner for JobsOhio since 2020. Prior to joining JobsOhio in 2020, she spent over 8 years with BioEnterprise as well as over 6 years with First Place Bank. Tatyana is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University and serves as vice chair of the board of directors for Kendal at Home, a Westlake based nonprofit.


Moderators

Hayley Bock, Project Coordinator, JobsOhio
Hayley Bock is a Project Coordinator at JobsOhio, maintaining data integrity and assisting in the project management process for job creation/capital investment opportunities in Ohio. She joined JobsOhio in 2018. Today, she also acts as a liaison between the three parts of JobsOhio’s Innovation Strategy, serving on teams for each of the pillars – Innovation Districts, Research & Development Center Grants, and the JobsOhio Growth Capital Fund. Hayley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Strategic Communication from the Ohio State University and is based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Matthew Ellerbrock, Research Analyst, JobsOhio
Matthew Ellerbrock is a Research Analyst at JobsOhio, Ohio’s private economic development corporation. Prior to joining JobsOhio, Matthew was a Research Associate at the Center for Economic Development at Cleveland State University where he received his Master of Arts in Environmental Studies from the Levin College of Urban Affairs and an Urban Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate from the College. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.
