Deckard Family Fellow Randy Bowling
Randy Bowling

Randy Bowling is originally from Bedford, Ohio and began his civic involvement at a young age, graduating as Senior Class President at Bedford High in 2012.  In the Fall 2012, Randy began studying Political Science and Urban Studies. He has had several roles within CSU’s Student Government Association.  He has served as the Senator for the College of Urban Affairs and Assistant Vice President of Governmental Relations, where he planned multiple trips to Columbus and one trip to Washington to voice student concerns over internship and federal funding for higher education. Randy has also served on important CSU committees such as the CSU Master Plan and search committee for the Vice President of Enrollment Services.  

Randy interned in 2014 at Campus District Inc., a community development corporation for the east side of downtown Cleveland, where he worked on various projects including the public bathroom initiative, Cleveland’s East 22nd redevelopment and Campus District eNews. 

Currently, he works at CSU’s Division of Capital Planning where he assists both the prevailing wage officer as well as the fiscal manager. 


Deckard Family Fellow Nicholas Ciraldo
Nicholas Ciraldo

Nicholas Ciraldo is from the town of Peninsula, Ohio. He began playing the piano when he was three years old and has been playing since. He always finds time to play because it helps relieve stress. Nicholas also picked up soccer when he was 5 years old. Soccer was the reason he attended Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) because of its phenomenal soccer program and terrific academic reputation. When Nicholas was fourteen years old, he was recruited to play for the Columbus Crew’s Academy and at 15 he left CVCA and finished his schooling online in order to take advantage of this opportunity.

At CSU, Nicholas is working on his degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics. 


Deckard Family Fellow Marcus Coleman
Marcus Coleman

Marcus Coleman is a senior at Cleveland State University majoring in mechanical engineering. His curiosity of always wanting to know how everyday items work led him into this field. He is involved in the National Society of Black Engineers, CSU's LINK Program, and the MAC Scholar Men's Achievement Committee. Marcus has been working at Parker Hannifin for over a year as an engineering co-op intern.

When he graduates, from his bachelor program, he plans on pursing a MBA. His hobbies consist of playing basketball and working out, playing video games and watching anime.

 


Deckard Family Fellow Randy Bowling Wanye Nie
Wayne Nie
Wayne Nie moved from China to Ohio five years ago. He is currently a second-year undergraduate student at CSU majoring in Chemistry/Pre-Med. He attended Solon High School from 2010-2014. Since his second year of high school, he volunteers for Cleveland Clinic Foundation. While at CSU, he works as a Supplemental Instruction leader for General Chemistry at TASC helping students to better understand chemistry.  
 
He is dedicated to studying medicine to improve the healthcare systems in urban areas. Recently, he completed a two-month medical internship at Case Western Reserve University - School of Medicine. After the internship, he continued to work on his Reproductive Biology research.
 
Upon graduation he plans to continue to serve the urban community as a physician.
