The CSU Student Belonging and Success Division, its programs and initiatives work in harmony to substantially impact the ability of CSU students to thrive academically, no matter who they are, where they are from or where they are headed. 

As Dean of Students, Dr. Nicholas Petty is dedicated to advancing every student, every day. He strategically works to substantially increase student retention and persistence to graduation through key programs such as Living Learning Communities and CARE Team Management.

Dr. Petty fosters a healthy environment by promoting safety, healing, and wellbeing for all students. He actively removes barriers and inequities to ensure continued student success. Under his leadership, the Division of Student Belonging and Success has been enhanced to provide a safe environment, balanced with quality resources and support for students facing challenges that impede their personal and academic success.
