2015 Civic Engagement Grant Award Winners

Cleveland State University’s Office of Civic Engagement has announced the inaugural recipients of its Civic Engagement Grants.

In keeping with Cleveland State University’s mission to engage with the larger community beyond CSU’s campus, the Office of Civic Engagement awarded 16 faculty and staff with grants to support their civic engagement efforts with students.

Made possible through a generous gift from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, these grants will support collaborations between CSU and external partners that mutually benefit community well-being, student learning and academic scholarship.

Grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 have been awarded to representing an array of disciplines and to four CSU student organizations. This is the second year that Civic Engagement Grants were awarded.

“CSU is committed to expanding the traditional classroom into opportunities that benefit the community,” said Director of Community Partnerships Julian Rogers. “Connecting students with community partners has a dual benefit – we are able to share our valuable CSU resources to improve the community and expose students to civic opportunities that they will hopefully engage in beyond college.”
