As part of the Division of Campus Engagement, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the Dean of Students Office provides:

  • Individualized care and support to students in need
  • Space to create a healthy environment by promoting safety, healing and wellbeing for all students
  • Advocacy for necessary change through dialogue, policy review, and student engagement
  • Work based in equity and access

As AVP and Dean of Students, Ali oversees the following areas: CARE Management, Center for Campus Engagement, Community Standards & Advocacy, Counseling Center, Health Center, Lift Up Vikes! Food Pantry & Resource Center, Office of Disability & Testing Services, & Student Wellness. She is committed to access and equity and strives to work with students experiencing barriers to their education.

Ali has worked in various roles in higher education including equity, academic advising, volunteer services, service-learning, residence life, student conduct, Title IX, and student support services. Ali received her BA in History with a minor Philosophy from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. She completed her MS in Higher Education from Miami University – Ohio, and her MLS in Human Rights & Social Justice from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Ali is currently pursuing her PhD in Urban Education Policy at CSU with a focus on the experiences of students with disabilities. Prior to her arrival at CSU in September 2019, Ali worked at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, La Salle University in Philadelphia, and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. In her spare time, Ali enjoys doing community service, spending time outside in the Metroparks, and reading.
