OUR MISSION

We exist to advance access, quality and justice in computer science education and related career fields by providing programming and supports for students, educators and educational institutions and informing public policy.

OUR VISION

The Center for Computing Education and Instruction is a national leader in developing and strengthening justice-centered computer science education that effectively equips teachers and prepares students to excel in a highly digital, rapidly evolving society.

OUR VALUES

  • Student Success - The needs, desires and dreams of students are central to our work. We are uncompromisingly focused on having a positive impact on students and educators. Their success is our success.

  • Justice - We want the entire system supporting students and educators to be just and fair. Equitable access to computer science education only gets us so far. We strive to break down systemic barriers that prevent those with access to computer science education from excelling.

  • Collaboration - We seek the input and partnership of others who share our commitment to computer science education, working with both formal and informal education partners, funders, community-based organizations, and others to advance our mission.

  • Endurance - We want the change we effect to be enduring and for successful solutions to be integrated, institutionalized and scaled.

  • Adaptability - At the same time, we work nimbly, tracking progress and making adjustments to programs and plans when needed.

  • Steadfastness - We are deeply committed to our mission and vision and in this work for the long haul.
