CSU Presents “Dangerous Liaisons” February 25-March 6

Cleveland State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, a resident company of Playhouse Square, will present Christopher Hampton’s seductive story “Dangerous Liaisons (Les Liaisons Dangereuses)” February 25 – March 6, 2016, at the Outcalt Theatre, Playhouse Square.

This tale of seduction is set among the aristocrats of France before the French Revolution. Written by Christopher Hampton and directed by Russ Borski, this classic drama of morality and decadent sexuality is played as an ultimate game of manipulation with tragic results. The plot revolves around two rivals who use sex as a weapon of humiliation and degradation, all while relishing in their cruel plots. The Royal Shakespeare Company's acclaimed 1985 production was a major critical and popular success and was staged in Stratford, London and on Broadway. The 1988 film version starred Glenn Close, John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer and was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
