Graduate Admission Requirements

Graduate applicants must meet all minimum requirements for consideration.

1. Academic: Hold a baccalaureate degree equivalent to a baccalaureate degree earned in the U.S.
    
2. Evaluation: For all college or university transcripts received from an overseas institution, you must get a foreign transcript evaluation. Results must be sent directly from the foreign transcript evaluation service to CSU. 3. English language proficiency: Successfully meet one of the below options as proof of English language proficiency. Test scores must be sent from the testing agencies directly to CSU.

     TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based)	New Scoring: Minimum overall score of 4.0 with scores of at least 3.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 4.0 in Writing Old Scoring: Minimum overall score of 78 and at least 17 in each section on internet-based testing (IBT); Paper-based (PBT) 550
     IELTS	6.0 and at least 5.0 in each section
     Duolingo English Test	110 and at least 95 in each section
     Pearsons Test of English (PTE)	50
     iTEP	3.8

   • Successful completion of CSU's IELP (Intensive English Language Program) Advanced Level with a grade of 80% or better
   • Completion of English language studies (Level 112) from the ELS Language Centers
   • Waived Requirement if: Graduated from a secondary school or accredited college/university in the U.S. or from one of these English language proficiency testing exempted countries.
      
4. Examinations: If required by your academic department and intended program, you must provide official score report of the GRE, GMAT, or MAT. Test scores must be sent from the testing agencies directly to CSU. Please check program requirements in the graduate catalog.

5. Additional Admission Criteria: Programs may identify additional items they would like to review for a complete application. Please check your specific program's requirements in the graduate catalog. Additional items may include:

• Letters of recommendation
• A personal statement
• Evidence of research experience or writing skills
• A resume or CV
• Proof of a specific degree or required prerequisite courses taken with a B or better
