Hello fellow Vikings! My name is Brandon Rassavong and I am a Finance Intern at The Sherwin-Williams Company. I work in the Global Supply Chain division on the Distribution Accounting team. I started working here back in October 2018.
The Distribution Accounting team is responsible for the processing and payment of freight shipments from our many manufacturing plants and warehouses. The duties as an intern on my team include sorting through rejected invoices and making sure they are getting paid. Shipment carriers often will send us an invoice without proper documentation such as proof of delivery. Without documented proof of delivery, we cannot process the invoice and it will not get paid. It is our job to reach out to the carriers to receive the documentation necessary to process invoices when they do not provide them for us initially.
I also have the responsibility to assist my other team members with various tasks that they may need me to handle. Along with all other positions at Sherwin-Williams, we are responsible for process improvement for our positions. Job procedures documentation is asked of us so that the next employee in our position has a smooth transition into their new job. I will be graduating from Cleveland State in May 2020 with an Accounting Major, and will begin preparing for the CPA exam pending graduation.
