INTERNAL CONTROLS DEFINED

Internal controls are safeguards for processes, effected by the Board of Trustees, management, and other key personnel, designed to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives related to:

  • Reliability and integrity of financial reporting 
  • Effectiveness and efficiency of operations
  • Compliance with applicable laws, regulations and governance
  • Safeguarding of assets

RESPONSIBILITY 

CSU’s management is responsible for the design, implementation, adequacy and enforcement of its internal control environment.

ROLE OF INTERNAL AUDIT

Internal Audit will assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and provide advice or recommendations to strengthen controls.
