The strength of Cleveland State University lies in the quality and breadth of its academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Both levels need to be improved and enhanced to achieve academic excellence. New initiatives and signature programs also must be developed strategically to build upon the strength of existing programs. Academic programs must be supported with state-of-the-art facilities and new technology. 
 
SOLID FINANCIAL  
FOUNDATION FOR
ADVANCEMENT

A solid financial foundation is necessary to achieve our goals. Sustaining high quality programs as well as maintaining affordability should be high priorities in the allocation of resources. Cleveland State needs not only to manage enrollment and budget effectively but also aggressively secure additional resources for growth and development through fundraising and new international recruitment initiatives.

CULTURE

Cleveland State must nurture an open, supportive, and trusting climate where all constituencies work collaboratively. Open practices, effective communication, clear procedures, and participative decision-making must be nurtured.

Cleveland State needs to provide rich academic and student life experiences as well as exceptional services to all students. All members of the campus community must take responsibility for building a strong learning community to ensure the success of all students.

Cleveland State must become known as the region's most valued academic resource and friend. We need to capitalize on our strategic location to increasingly engage businesses and other institutions in cooperative relationships. Cleveland State will strengthen its niche in the community by providing services to help meet the educational and economic development needs of the region.

ENVIRONMENT

Changes in the physical campus must continue to reflect the mission and goals of the University while creating a beautiful place to learn. In addition, Cleveland State needs to build a unique and distinctive image that generates local and national recognition of the University and its quality programs.
