Cleveland State University will plan to recognize its accomplished staff through awarding of an Associate of the University distinction at the Homecoming CSU Faculty and Staff Alumni/RFSPA Breakfast during Homecoming Week. The awarding of the distinction recognizes staff members who have achieved the highest level of skill and competence in their discipline. The awarding of this distinction is also an expression of the ideals of the University reflected in the recipients who are awarded, bringing honor and distinction to the University, as well as the individual.
Eligibility
- Nominee must have been employed (full-time) with CSU for a minimum of 20 years
- Nominee must have RETIRED within on year
- Nominee must have no active discipline on file at retirement, or disciplines within the last two years before retirement
- Nominee must have at least "Meets Requirements" on final three years of performance reviews
Nominations
- Nomination must be submitted to Human Resources
- Nomination must be submitted by the nominee's department director with a letter of recommendation
- Nomination must include no more than one page detailing the nominee's CSU career history including professional accomplishments, committee memberships, personal accomplishments and institutional knowledge gained while working at CSU
Selection Procedure
- Human Resources will establish and lead a small selection committee of no less than three but no more than five CSU employees
- Nominations will plan to be reviewed in October, and Associates of University awarded by November.
Privileges
- Issuance of a CSU retiree email address (email address will not be employee's previous work email address)
- Plaque with Associate of University Status
- Staff discounts at campus store, and sports and other events
- Name listed in University Directory
- Invitation to attend and bring a guest to annual retiree luncheon, when held
- Free parking, when visiting CSU
