Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to announce that CSU has received a monumental gift of $10 million from the Ahuja Foundation and the Ahuja family to transform business education at CSU. This philanthropic support will allow students and faculty members in the Monte Ahuja College of Business the opportunity to explore the emerging technologies and business trends that are reshaping the business landscape.

Thanks to the generosity of alumnus Monte Ahuja, his wife, Usha, and their family, the College of Business will undergo a sweeping curricular redesign for all undergraduate and graduate degree programs. With access to new advanced learning environments, students will gain experience in AI and other technologies to understand how they are changing the global economy. This gift also includes continued financial support for students who are focused on their degree programs and preparing to become the next founders, innovators and changemakers for the region.

In addition, the Ahuja family has pledged an annual gift to recognize and incentivize faculty excellence in the College of Business. Our faculty represent their college through groundbreaking research, exceptional mentorship and academic expertise, and this gift will celebrate their contributions.

In recognition of the Ahujas’ continued support of our students, the transformational gift announced today and Monte Ahuja’s success as an entrepreneur, the CSU Board of Trustees will meet to approve a plan at their next meeting to rename the Monte Ahuja College of Business to the Ahuja College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Monte Ahuja earned his MBA from CSU in 1975, and during his time as a student, he developed the idea that would become Transtar Industries, a global leader in transmission and drivetrain-related parts. His story is an inspiration to our business students today, who are also pursuing their own innovative ideas, and it is the entrepreneurial pursuit of success that we wish to celebrate and encourage in our students for years to come.
