Cleveland State University Police Department Auxiliary Program (Internship)

The Cleveland State University Police Department Auxiliary Internship Program offers qualifying students the opportunity to observe law enforcement professionals in the performance of their daily duties. This internship will provide valuable insight into the skills and training required to successfully pursue a career in the field of law enforcement.

Successful completion of this program requires a minimum of 60 hours of participation in activities including but not limited to police ride-alongs, law enforcement-focused training programs, auxiliary officer patrols, as well as observations and interaction in other day-to-day duties as they occur.

Program Qualifications:

* Students must be pursuing a major in Criminology or Sociology with priority given to Criminology majors. Criminal Justice minors are also eligible to enroll.

* Students must have junior or senior standing to apply for an internship.

* Students are required to complete all required courses for their major before enrolling in SOC 491.

* Students are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the semester preceding the start of the program.
