CSU, Tri-C Celebrate the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Collaborative virtual program highlights “Future Leaders Dreaming Forward”

CLEVELAND, OHIO (January 10, 2022) – Cleveland State University presents the 31st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration “Future Leaders Dreaming Forward” in partnership with Cuyahoga Community College this Tuesday, January 18 at 8:30 a.m.

The virtual event will feature student essay contest winners from both CSU and Tri-C and will be emceed by retired principal and social advocate Clarence Bozeman, who served as the driver for Dr. King and his family between 1958 and 1960.

Bozeman graduated from Alabama State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in American History and Social Studies. He received his Master of  Education Administration from Fordham University, earned an educational specialist degree from CSU, and was a NEH Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley. He was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from Wilberforce University.

The event will also feature the Reverend Gloria Chaney of Church of the Master in Cleveland Heights, a spoken word performance by Jasmine Orlosky Crawford and music from vocalist/recording artist Gerald Skillern.

Student presentations will be delivered by TineRenea Conwell and Austin Keller of Tri-C, and Siri Talla and Ti’Ajania Williams of CSU. Talla is currently pursuing a Master of Information Systems degree in the Monte Ahuja College of Business. Williams is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in the College of Sciences and Health Professions.
