Cleveland State University to Host “Ohio Votes 2026: The Midterms and What’s at Stake” Panel on Oct. 28
Cleveland State University’s Center for Civics, Culture and Society and its School of Communication will host Ohio Votes 2026: The Midterms and What’s at Stake on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Roberta Steinbacher Atrium of Glickman-Miller Hall.
The panel brings together a veteran Statehouse journalist, a political scientist and a legal scholar to examine the races and issues on Ohio’s ballot. A free reception will follow the discussion.
Edward Horowitz, associate professor in the CSU School of Communication, will moderate. Panelists include:
- Karen Kasler, Statehouse Bureau Chief, Ohio Public Media
- Dr. J. Cherie Strachan, Director, Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, The University of Akron
- John T. Plecnik, Associate Professor, CSU College of Law
“Healthy self-government depends on citizens who understand the choices in front of them,” said Peter Koritansky, director for the CSU Center for Civics, Culture and Society. “This panel gives our students and neighbors a chance to hear from people who cover, study and practice politics in Ohio every day, and to leave better prepared to make informed decisions at the ballot box.”
The event takes place at the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, at the corner of East 17th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. It is open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
