Commencement Exceptions

If you finish your requirements during Summer semester or Fall semester, you are eligible to participate in the December commencement ceremony. Students finishing in the Spring semester are eligible to participate in the May commencement ceremony only.

If you want an exception to this rule, you can submit your request using our Commencement Exception online form.

Any exception must be approved by the Dean of the College in which the student intends to graduate.

The commencement ceremonies will be held in May and December. In order to participate in the commencement ceremony, a student must have completed or be currently attending all courses necessary to satisfy degree requirements.

Prior to submitting a Commencement Exception request, you must have a graduation application on file. Please note that not all requests are approved. Students may be asked to provide supporting documentation to back up their claim.

Please understand if you attend another ceremony other than your scheduled commencement, your name will NOT appear in the Commencement booklet.
