HOW TO GET HELP

Cleveland State University offers students with a wide variety of resources to help students reach their academic goals and ensure academic success and graduation. The First Year Advising Office works closely with students to connect them with these resources. The following offices offer support to students at no extra cost (outside of tuition):

TUTORING AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER (TASC)

TASC offers undergraduate students support in four different formats:

Tutoring

TASC offers tutoring in a small group setting with specially trained and certified tutors that a student can choose to work with once or twice a week in a wide variety of courses.

Success Coaching

Sometimes students need to strengthen their “soft” academic skills.  TASC offers Success Coaching to help with those skills.  Success Coaches work with students to create a personalized plan for both academic and personal outcomes. Assistance offered includes: note-taking, study skills, reading, time management, test anxiety, test taking, organization, stress management, learning style and memory and concentration. Success Coaches do not just focus on academic needs; they also address individual needs experienced as a first year student.
