April is National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and we're honoring those affected by sexual assault and violence with a month full of educational events and programming. We are calling on all CSU community members, local organizations and institutions to change ourselves and the systems surrounding us to build racial equity and respect.

April 6

Our stories, our voices | 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. | student center atrium
Join the Women's Center as they display real stories from campus community members. Find campus and community support and resources available at the event.

April 10

Join us as Lauren C. Cowan, award-winning speaker, CSU alum, educator, activist and mom of three shares her tale of survival and heroism. Her story is one that will be forever etched in California's history. Escaping from an abusive, polygamist marriage, Laura and her three children endured unimaginable abuse.

Laura spends countless hours advocating for and supporting the voices that cannot be heard and the faces that cannot be seen. She believes that her mission is a community effort and has dedicated her life to making changes and bringing awareness for domestic violence victims and the missing.

This conversation will focus on how relationship development and significant influences impact sexual and intimate partner violence and effective interventions that can move us forward.
