Confucius Institute at CSU to Present Chinese Summer Immersion Camps

The Confucius Institute at Cleveland State University will present Chinese Summer Immersion Camps in July and August of 2014. Campers in grades K-6 are encouraged to join us for this fun and educational experience.

The Confucius Institute at CSU is partnering with Campus International School (CIS) of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to host a Summer Immersion Camp at CIS from July 28 to August 1.

The Confucius Institute at CSU is also partnering with the Westlake City School District and Westlake Chinese Cultural Association to present a Summer Immersion Camp at Lee Burneson Middle School and Dover Elementary School from August 4 to August 8.

This Chinese Summer Immersion Camp for Northeast Ohio K-6 students is a one-week program. The goal is to provide a rewarding experience for all students interested in Chinese language and culture. Students will have daily instruction in Chinese vocabulary and grammar and will experience many aspects of Chinese culture, including Chinese painting, music, calligraphy and games, as well as non-combative martial arts, traditional art forms and much more.

Registration costs are $120 per camper for the week and are all-inclusive. (Camp participants will be required to bring their own lunches and snacks each day.)

Chinese camp programs run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every day. Additional before- and after-care are available for $25 each.

Registration forms are available online at www.csuohio.edu/confucius and must be completed and submitted with payment by the registration deadline of April 30.
