Prepare for a career in research, pharmaceutical science and other related fields. You'll engage in original laboratory work and scientific research early in the program to gain a comprehensive understanding of chemistry as a bench science and develop your practical skills sooner. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in scientific research through the Honors or Scholars Program.
Urban Health Certificate
Urban Health Certificate
Format: On Campus
Designed for students who are underrepresented in medicine and interested in a career in urban primary care, this certificate program gives you the foundation to gain acceptance to, and ultimately excel in medical school. Students who are admitted to the program complete an undergraduate Urban Health Certificate (minimum of 19 credits including eight credits of urban health, eight credits of clinical science and three credits of professional development courses) while also completing the science prerequisites needed for medical school.

Choose from five specialized tracks in population health, including Specialized Population, Forensic Nursing, Clinical Nurse Leader and Nursing Education. Engage in collaborative research in various healthcare settings through diverse research specializations and community partnerships.
Bioethics Certificate
Bioethics Certificate

Gain a deeper understanding in moral theory and clinical practice, law and policy related to bioethics. The certificate program requires a total of nine credit hours in bioethics at the undergraduate level, with a required prerequisite in PHL 240 - Health Care Ethics OR PHL 428 - Bioethics: Special Topics.

Develop expertise in areas such as fundraising, grant writing, budgeting and strategic planning in nonprofit management. Gain hands-on experience through internships and a capstone project, allowing you to apply your learning in real-world settings and prepare to make a positive impact in the nonprofit sector.
