Monday, August 25 ~ First Day of Weekday Classes

  • Welcome Information Stations, across campus, 8am-5pm
      Pick up campus information! Grab a WOW calendar of events!
     
  • Good Morning Commuters, SC Plaza, 7:30am-10am
      Enjoy free pastries and coffee compliments of Café Ah-Roma!  Get your Commuter Survival bag (while supplies last).
  • Good Evening Commuters, SC Plaza, 5-7pm
     Enjoy free pastries and coffee compliments of Café Ah-Roma!  Get your Commuter Survival bag (while supplies last).
  • Scooping out Success, SC Atrium, 11am-1pm
     Come visit with the Division of Student Affairs while an enjoying a create your own sundae!

  • Viking Ventures Cleveland Indians Vs. Detroit Tigers, SC 319, 10am-Until Gone
     Come purchase your CLUB SEAT (ticket includes all you can eat/drink) ticket’s for Monday’s (9/1) Indian’s game VS. the Detroit Tigers (game start time is 4:05pm at Progressive Field). Tickets for this game will be available in the Department of Student Life starting Tuesday, August 26h at 10:00am.  Tickets are $10 with a limit of 2 tickets per student.  Students must show a valid Viking ID.  Please note supplies are limited and based on first come first serve basis. 
     
  • Dakaboom, SC Atrium, 11am-2pm
    Best friends Ben and Paul revitalize the two-man routine with a refreshing delivery of a unique brand of humor.  With winks to musical theatre, hip hop, opera, electronica, pop, and acapella, the eclectic comedy show is one that needs to be seen to be understood.  A DO NOT MISS!

    Join CAB for their annual Welcome Back Bash featuring a concert from AMERICAN IDOL WINNER KRIS ALLEN!!! 
     
  • Rockin’ The Rec, Recreation Center, 6pm-9pm
    Rock The Rec is an interactive, over-the-top event that invites students and community members to participate at the Recreation Center in a totally fun and unique way! Whether you're new to Cleveland State or a veteran viking, this event is a wonderful way to kick off the new year, make some new friends, and see what Campus Recreation Services is all about - while having a lot of fun!

    Now in it's 8th year, this awesome event features free food, a rock wall, inflatables, games, prizes, demos, giveaways, music and a whole lot more. Bring your friends and have an awesome time at the Rec - you won't want to miss it!

  • Social Studies Meet & Greet, RT 1316, 2:30-3:30pm

  • Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Waetjen Auditorium, 7-8pm
    Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino rose to fame as a cast member of MTV’s #1 cable television show, Jersey Shore. He will be on campus talking about his battle with addiction. Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino describes with colorful detail his personal battle with addiction and his eventual epiphany that led him down the road of recovery. Michael shares the good, bad and ugly truths of addiction and how it affected his personal and professional life. His message of hope, never giving up and finding yourself again when all seems lost is a message that is sure to resonate with any audience.

    His program is called: Twelve Rounds: My Personal Battle with Addiction and My Road to Recovery. Ticket Sales begin Monday August 25th at 9am in SC 319. Tickets are FREE with CSU ID or available for purchase through the Wolstein Center Box Office for $15 each.
