Who we are

Undergraduate Studies and Academic Programs is here to help students achieve academic success at Cleveland State University. We are comprised of several units that are responsible for coordinating undergraduate student activities and programming inside and outside of the classroom. These units are listed below:

Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) initiative offers families the chance to save college tuition and students the ability to save valuable time.  Qualified students in grades 7-12 take college courses from either community colleges or universities; they earn college credits while also fulfilling high school requirements.  The interaction with college students, faculty, and staff prepares students for future college-level work.

The Exploratory Advising Office provides academic advising and academic support services for students who are undecided about their academic major or academic plan.  This Office also serves students who do not immediately meet the academic requirements for admission directly into the academic college of their choice.

First Year Advising helps ensure students make a smooth transition to the University by providing on-going support, outreach, and intervention.  This program builds a foundation that leads to academic success and graduation.  Cleveland State recognizes the importance of support for students in the critical first year of college.

The Office of First Year Experience (FYE) promotes the engagement and success of all undergraduate first-year students as they transition to Cleveland State University.

Student Success Programs aid in the success, persistence and retention of students. These programs rely on Starfish, MyMajors, and Schedule Planner to track student success.

The Tutoring and Academic Success Center (TASC) uses research-based strategies and approaches for learning in order to help students achieve their academic goals and ultimately to graduate. The informal, student-centered environment assists students to achieve academically and integrate socially into college life.  TASC’s student success programs include: group tutoring, success coaching, Supplemental Instruction (SI), Structured Learning Assistance (SLA), and eTutoring.
