Brief Bio

Alexandra Higl-Timms serves as the Program Manager at the Center for Public & Nonprofit Management, overseeing student enrichment (i.e. internships & mentoring) and women’s leadership programs, as well as assisting with professional development activities. She also spearheads the Center’s communications, social media, and marketing efforts.

Alexandra graduated from John Carroll University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications studying journalism & media writing. In 2018, she received her Master of Public Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Management from Cleveland State University. She previously served as the graduate assistant to the MPA program director at Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs, and was a founding member and the inaugural president of the University’s International City/County Management Association (ICMA) student chapter.

Prior to her experience at Cleveland State University, Alexandra worked as a freelance journalist and community outreach coordinator. In the summer of 2017, she served as a Public Policy Fellow at Cuyahoga County.

Alexandra is passionate about connecting students with experiential learning opportunities, and admires their drive and ambition to enact change in the community.

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, playing the violin, and exploring Cleveland. She’s also a health & wellness enthusiast, and a certified group fitness instructor.
