A Contest of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs


Contest Rules:
Who May Enter
Photographers of any age are eligible. 
The “What Water Means to You” photo contest is open to all photographers.  No more than two (2) photos from each entrant will be accepted and only one (1) photo per entrant can be selected for the exhibition. Photos must have been taken after January 1, 2015.    
Entrants must hold all rights to a photograph. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject's parent or guardian, and provide it to Cleveland State University upon request. 
By entering the contest, entrants grant Cleveland State University the right to publish and use the photos submitted in any and all print or electronic forms in future publications, advertising, promotion, exhibition, and commercial purposes.
Entry Fee 
There is no entry fee for this contest.    
How to Enter
To Enter by Email
Photos may be submitted by email to waterresilientcities@csuohio.edu
Digital photos should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Photos submitted electronically must be in a .png, .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format with a resolution of at least 600 dpi. Scans of non-digital photos can also be submitted. In all electronic submissions, entrants must include the following information in the email to which the image files are attached:
File Name
Name each image file as follows (no spacing and no symbols): 
1. The entrant’s first and last name.
2. Assign a two-digit number (i.e. 01 or 02) for each image up to a total of two (2). 
3. Date the photo was taken (i.e. 112315).
4. Location the photo was taken.
- If submitting one (1) photo the image could be named: “JohnDoe01112315LakeErie.jpg”.
- If submitting two (2) photos the images could be named: “JohnDoe01112315LakeErie.jpg” and “JohnDoe02112315LakeErie.jpg”. 
Additional Required Information
Attach each image files to an email that includes the following information:
1. The two-digit number assigned to the photo.
2. The photo’s title.
3. The year the photo was taken.
4. Your mailing address.
Please add "Water Photo Contest" in the subject line of your email.
Send your email submission with the files attached to waterresilientcities@csuohio.edu. Please use this email address for submitting photos or for questions about the contest. 
To Enter by Mail
Photos may also be submitted by mail. Entrants can submit photos by mailing a CD, Flash drive, or other media which contains your photos. Please use the File Name requirements listed above to name your photos. Please include the following information in your mailing package:
1. Your name
2. Your email address
Please also include entry information for each photo submission:
1. The two-digit number assigned to the photo.
2. The photo’s title.
3. The year the photo was taken.
4. Your mailing address.
Copies of the entry form will be accepted. Media containing photos as well as the photos themselves will become the property of Cleveland State University and will not be returned.

Note: By following all the steps listed above, you will be completing the terms of submission.
Submission Deadline
Mailed entries must be postmarked by Friday, March 25, 2016.  For email entries, the final deadline for electronic entries will be 11:59pm, Friday, March 25, 2016.  The deadline will not be extended and late submissions will not be accepted.
Notification of Receipt
Please do not contact us about the status of entries. Also be sure to completed the online submission form.  If you do not agree to the terms of the online submission form your submission will not be entered in the contest.
Selection Process
All submitted photos which meet the criteria described above will be displayed on/or linked from the Water Resilient Cities Conference webpage.
A selection committee will choose the winning photos, which will be prominently displayed in an exhibition at the Thomas F. Campbell Gallery at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and featured at the Water Resilient Cities Conference. The exhibition will run for the month of April 2016.
If your photo is selected as a winner, you will be notified no later than March 31, 2016. Notification will be made by email.
