What is Viking CHAMPS?

The Viking CHAMPS program is a pre-college preparatory program for rising 11th and 12th grade students who have an interest in careers in the health professions. Cleveland State University hosts the summer program that stresses preparation for a career in healthcare (doctors, nurses, therapists, etc.). The four week program will train you for science lab basics and will also expose you to a human cadaver lab where you will learn anatomy!

There will also be group learning experiences, relaxation sessions, and discussions with medical professionals as they describe the details of their profession.

Through the Viking CHAMPS Program, students will:

  • Receive Free ACT Prep classes and resources
  • Learn about the different health professions through interactions with programs currently at Cleveland State University
  • Meet health professionals working in the Northeast Ohio community
  • Free lunch and bus passes
  • Participate in challenges to win prizes
  • and MUCH MORE!

Students who successfully complete the three-week program will receive a $500 stipend and a laptop computer!
