Bernie Moreno, Chair, Presidential Search Committee
Bernie Moreno is chair of the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees. He was appointed to the Board by Ohio Governor John Kasich in 2011 and previously served as the Board’s vice chair. He is founder and president of the Bernie Moreno Companies, one of the largest auto sales firms in Ohio.
Thomas Adler is a member of the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees. He is also past chair of the Playhouse Square Foundation Board and was instrumental in developing CSU’s Arts Campus and its partnership with Cleveland Play House and Playhouse Square. The Joanie and Tom Adler Atrium in the CSU Student Center is named in honor of Adler and his wife, Joanie.
Dan T. Moore
Dan T. Moore is a member of the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees. Moore is the founder and president of the Dan T. Moore Company, with a portfolio of advanced materials manufacturing companies. The Dan T. Moore Maker Space in CSU’s Washkewicz College of Engineering was named in recognition of his significant contributions to the University.
Community Board Member
Heather Lennox was appointed as a community member of the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees in 2017. Lennox currently serves as partner-in-charge of the Cleveland office of Jones Day. She is a national expert in corporate and municipal restructurings and insolvency law.
CSU Foundation Board of Directors
Timothy Cosgrove is a partner with the international law firm Squire Patton Boggs and also serves as chair of the CSU Foundation Board of Directors. A two-time CSU alumnus, he previously served as director of policy and legislation for Ohio Governor George Voinovich.
Rick Chiricosta is chairman, president and CEO of Medical Mutual of Ohio. Chiricosta was instrumental in the development of CSU’s Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion, the only indoor tennis facility in the Horizon League.
Margot Copeland is executive vice president and director of philanthropy and civic engagement at KeyBank. She played a major role in KeyBank’s support of MC2STEM High School, a unique public science and technology educational institution whose 11th and 12th grades are housed on the CSU campus.
Jenniffer Deckard is CEO of Fairmount Santrol, one of the world’s leading providers of high-performance sand and sand-based product solutions. Deckard, her husband Daryl and Frank and Barbara Sullivan provided the foundational gift for the creation of CSU’s Sullivan-Deckard Scholars Program, a comprehensive educational and mentoring initiative to promote success in college for children aging out of foster care.
Dr. Brian Donley began his current role as Cleveland Clinic Chief of Staff and Chief of the Clinical Enterprise on Jan 1, 2015, after serving for 18 months as President of the organization’s network of community hospitals and family health centers. Previously, he served as President of Lutheran Hospital.
Peter Raskind is the former interim CEO of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and the former CEO of National City Corp.
Rev. Dr. Stephen Rowan currently serves as Senior Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, located in Cleveland’s Glenville community. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Foundation. He previously served the organization as assistant director of development and program officer for economic development and faith-based initiatives. He is the first former employee to chair the Board.
Rachel Carnell is a professor of English in CSU’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She is an expert in 18th century British literature and an author or editor of four books, including The Secret History in Literature, 1660-1820, published by Cambridge University Press.
Ronnie Dunn is an associate professor of urban studies in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. A noted expert on urban policy, racial profiling and community policing, Dunn is currently a member of the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board.
Jeremy Genovese is an associate professor of human development and educational psychology in the College of Education. He is an expert in behavioral learning theory, memory improvement, and evolutionary psychology, and earned his Ph.D. from CSU in 2000.
Katherine Judge is a professor of psychology in the College of Science and Health Professions. A noted expert in psycho-social interventions to address dementia and TBI, Judge’s research has been funded by the Alzheimer’s Association, the National Institute on Aging and the Veteran's Health Administration.
Jerzy T. Sawicki serves as the vice president for research at CSU. He is the D.E. Bently and A. Muszynska Endowed Chair and professor of mechanical engineering in the Washkewicz College of Engineering. As vice president he oversees the University’s research enterprise and has overall responsibility for nurturing excellence in research, scholarship and creative activities across the campus.
Nigamanth Sridhar is CSU’s dean of graduate studies. In that role, he promotes educational and research excellence in graduate programming across campus. He is also a professor of electrical engineering and computer science in the Washkewicz College of Engineering and previously served as the president of CSU’s Faculty Senate.
Julian M. Earls
Julian Earls is an executive-in-residence in the Monte Ahuja College of Business and previously served as
CSU’s interim vice president for engagement and chief diversity officer. He is the former director of NASA’s Glenn Research Center.
Stephanie McHenry is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for Business Affairs & Finance at Cleveland State University. In this capacity, she oversees critical university functions including finance, information systems & technology, capital planning, campus safety, facilities management, purchasing and human resources.
William Napier is secretary to the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees and senior advisor to the CSU president for government relations. He previously served in senior leadership positions at The Ohio State University.
Mike Thomas is the director of athletics at Cleveland State University. In that role, he manages operations and oversight of CSU’s 18 Division I sports while promoting athletic and academic excellence for the university’s student athletes. Prior to joining CSU, Thomas served as athletic director at the University of Illinois, the University of Cincinnati and the University of Akron.
Sierra Davidson serves as a student member to the Cleveland State University Board of Trustees. She is a junior psychology major who is also a forward on the CSU women’s basketball team.
Malek Khawam is a first-year law student at CSU’s Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in urban affairs and a Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State as well as serving as president of CSU’s Student Government Association.
Sonali Wilson is general counsel for Cleveland State University, managing all legal and compliance operations for the University. She previously served as CSU’s assistant legal counsel and secretary to the CSU Board of Trustees.
