Compliments / Complaints for Police Department Personnel

If you would like to compliment the actions of or file a complaint against an employee of the Cleveland State University Police Department, there are five ways to do this:

In Person:

Come to the Police Department located at 1840 Chester Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44114.  Go to the reception window and explain your purpose.  A Police Dispatcher will put you in contact with the on-duty Police Supervisor.

Via Telephone:

Call 216-687-2020 and explain your purpose.  A Police Dispatcher will put you in contact with the on-duty Police Supervisor.

Via Traditional Mail:

Send your letter to Cleveland State University Police Department, 2121 Euclid Avenue, Campus Safety Building, Cleveland, Ohio, 44115, Attention: Chief of Police.

Via E-mail:

Send your compliment or complaint to police@csuohio.edu.

Anonymous and Confidential Report Filing: EthicsPoint

Cleveland State University is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and ethical campus environment.  However, this commitment requires effort by all members of the university community.  Therefore, CSU provides you with an anonymous, confidential, and secure way to report any activity that you feel may be a violation of law, regulation, or university policy.  Reportable activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Academic, employee or research misconduct

Note that when filing a report, you will leave the CSU website and be directed to the EthicsPoint secure reporting site. 

Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property.  If you require emergency assistance, dial 9-1-1 or 8-9-1-1 from any campus telephone.  Cell phone users should dial 9-1-1 and tell the operator to connect them with CSU Police
