School of Nursing

  • Featuring a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), accelerated BSN; and RN to BSN programs for undergraduates, more than 95% of School of Nursing students graduate on schedule and are in great demand by hospitals and health care agencies.
  • In the classroom, professors draw on years of real nursing experience and incorporate the latest techniques and technologies into the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to practice all of the nursing skills on mannequins in our Nursing Resource Laboratory before they ever work on patients.
  • Outside of the classroom, students learn first-hand by interacting with local nursing professionals during clinical experiences at some of the best hospitals in the country, including the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and MetroHealth Medical Center.

The School of Nursing has outstanding learning resources for students. In addition to the vast amount of information nurses need to know, they must also be proficient in many psychomotor skills. The Nursing Resources Lab (NRL) provides a safe environment for students to learn and practice the many intricate skills required for safe patient care before using them in clinical rotations with patients. Staff will escort you through the NRL and Simulation Rooms and offer explanations of what you are seeing and answer questions. Tours of the Simulation Rooms include Critical Care, Pediatrics and Obstetrics.
