Cleveland State University's Post-Baccalaureate DNP Pathway for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHMP)

With the ever-increasing need for mental health services across the nation, CSU is offering a post baccalaureate degree in nursing to DNP pathway that prepares graduates to assume a role as a nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHNP).  The practitioner will deliver care across the lifespan in community mental health agencies and private and interdisciplinary group practice settings.  Clinical competencies include developing an evidence-based plan of care that may include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions for the treatment and prevention of acute, episodic, and chronic mental health disorders.

  • Online, in person, and a blended delivery learning format in state-of-the-art clinical laboratory and world renown community and acute health care settings

Program Requirements:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25 in your post baccalaureate degree in nursing degree
  • One year experience working as an RN
  • Statistics course completed within the last five years with a grade of B or better

  • Apply to the College of Graduate Studies;  Deadline to apply is April 15. After April 15, applications will be considered on a space-availability basis.

  • 500 word essay addressing career goals
